Embracing Bison Heritage at Harlan Farms
Bison are an icon to America and a major part of our heritage in the USA.
Our vision was to provide the highest quality game meat products in America. Bison is at the top of that list. The family was also interested in regenerative agriculture to reduce the need for fertilizers and the carbon capturing process from the improved grassland. Bison happen to be a perfect fit for this approach to holistic farm management. With an eye to sustainability, fairness and authenticity, we stand behind our products 100% and will guarantee it.
Harlan Farms was established in March of 2020 as a farm for animals that would serve the best from farm to table. Our goal is to raise the best quality pure-bred grass-fed Plains Bison from established bloodlines that consistently produce large healthy and vigorous animals that have a calm and gentle temperament. Achieving these goals will ensure the integrity of the Bison breed and the production of healthy and great tasting Bison meat products.
Sustainability, fairness and authenticity
Our primary goal was to be within an hour of Dallas and we are 50 miles away. We converted a Charolais cattle operation to our customized Bison farming operation, as well as erecting a high game fence for a majority of the 480 acres for hunting. We provide world class Florida largemouth bass fishing on our lakes because it is our passion over everything else but we also provide hunting on the farm for Bison, Deer and Hogs.
Harlan Farms understands that to protect and increase the numbers of Bison, we must support those who dedicate their lives to bringing these magnificent animals to the table, the small family ranches and processors. Harlan Farms understands wildlife conservation and the importance of Bison history across North America so we are striving to make a difference farming our own herd of Bison in North Texas.
